Heroin - Discography (1997)
Early 90's hardcore, invented Gravity Records and the San Diego sound, kinda like the Faith/Void LP but really squished and more abstract. Call it screamo, I wouldn't.
"Members of Heroin went on to bands like Antioch Arrow, Rice, Clikitat Ikatowi, Second Story Window, Holy Molar, and Spacehorse."

ReplyDeleteWhat was the San Diego sound?
ReplyDeletearty hardcore that is still shouty, unlike the dc stuff that is arty by being quiet.
ReplyDeletethat is my layman's description.
another stellar pick from ktk, thanks fellas
screwy time signatures. shouted/screeched vocals. math-core/hardcore. I've this one in my collection already, but I cannot deny how seminal it truly is. Manu great bands evolved from this sound. Holy Molar, Locust, Swing Kids, Drive Like Jehu, RFTC...
ReplyDeleteNice one, big thanks for this... IBx
